That's a great choice Don, I hadn't heard it in eons. It was released in 1960 and I can still remember hearing it on the radio back in the day. I don't think it got very high on the charts, but I always really loved it. Thanks for the terrific reaction!

To be honest as an irishman and origionally from a rural area where accents can be hard to understand, But I could not understand a word she said, I had to play it a few times to catch someof it. Still I love accents..

I live 10 miles north of Montgomery Alabama. Every time I hear this song it gives me chills. I seen him in person about 10 years ago. His health was not great but that song still brought the house down. Hank Williams Sr. is an icon here in Alabama. Georgiana ,Alabama still celebrates him every year . From time to time has some really good artists.

Whether it's a tear-jerker or not depends wholly on the way it's recited. When I perform "Phantom 309" it brings people to tears. It's all in voice inflection and interpretation. The song is based on a truck/school bus tragedy in Boston, MA in 1963, where a truck driver lost his life to avoid a collision and a monument was erected at the site in his memory.

Wow, this song was awesome. That's real Country Music with genuine heart and feeling. It always cherishes and honors the great legends of the past. Never heard of this man, but I'm intrigued. I've got a suggestion for you here that I keep meaning to mention and always forget too. Check out another Kentucky native Marty Brown's "You Can't Wrap Your Arms Around a Memory". That is one of the best Country songs that most Country Music fans sadly have probably never heard of. It will knock your socks off. I'm also waiting for someone to react to Emmylou Harris "Beneath Still Waters". I can't believe that I can't find a single reaction to that song on RUclips anyplace. There really aren't allot of lyrics, but those that are there pack a serious punch. One of the greatest Country Hurting songs ever. Number 1 record for Emmylou back in 1980. I would have expected to see dozens of channels had reacted to this song before, and there just aren't any. Hard to believe.

Don, that's Hannah Barron. She's located in Alabama (I think I once heard her mention it was the southeast portion). She has a RUclips channel that features her Catfish Noodling. She'll venture into the shallow parts of a lake, go down underwater, wrestle and catch a huge catfish (blue cat) down in the bottom mud, then come up out of the water standing there waist deep with her entire arm sticking through the catfish's gill and her hand out through its mouth to grip it while she holds it slung up over her shoulder. From what I understand, you gotta be skilled at it or you can get injured if you don't do it right. You can also get your arm twisted bad and even broken if you aren't strong enough to manhandle it while it fights you. (Seems I remember she may have injured her arm one time). We are talking 'huge' Catfish. (some look to be 4 foot long or more). Her daddy taught her how to do it and they both host the show. Hannah has also been a spokeswoman for various hunting and fishing products. And I think she may have done some modeling, but not certain about that. (She certainly has the looks to do some modeling) You should check out one of her catfish noodling videos on RUclips. Its really something to watch!

DonI just bought my 3rd pair of Bell bottoms. I loved them years ago. Now I am over 70 and I am still going to wear them again. Maybe I am too old. But that is not going to stop me. I liked this song. And as always your reactions Thank you for the time you spend on these.
